A downloadable game for Windows

Take on the role of museum security and spot the art thief by catching them replacing one of the museum's 5 priceless orb artifacts with a clever but flawed fake!

The heist may be hard to spot the first time - but thankfully, you're a guard with magic time powers (or just access to security recordings), so you can spin the clock back and forth for additional looks at the events of the day! Carefully step through time or quickly speed through the day. The strategy is up to you.

Once you've gathered enough information, make your grand accusation! Only one of the 5 guests is guilty - choose the correct one to win!

Replays offer unique heists - each game will differ by several randomized elements (who is guilty, the paths of the guests/suspects, and the appearances of the real and fake artifacts).

This game was written for The Very Serious Juniper Dev Game Jam in June 2026.

This game was entirely written in Java, making use of libraries like Swing for graphics and java.awt.event for handling mouse clicks and other events. This approach definitely poses some challenges and limitations compared to using a modern game development environment or engine (which I'll hopefully learn to use someday), but the game's Java characteristics hopefully give it a unique or retro charm. This is my first time submitting to something like this, and I've had fun working on the game. I hope you enjoy it too! Thanks for checking it out :)

Install instructions

You're downloading the game in a zipped file created using Java's jpackage library. It contains everything you need to run this game (including all Java requirements without an install or changes to your computer - no need to download or set up anything else).

Extract the files, then navigate to the resulting folder. Run the SpinToWhen.exe application inside. I haven't paid to have this file certified as safe, so Windows will likely give you a warning about running a file from an unknown publisher. If you click "More info" and then "Run anyway", it should run normally (and safely :)).

Thanks for downloading the game! Hope you enjoy.
